Habitat

The Laughing Kookaburra lives in areas consisting of deciduous and grassy forests. It is also found in agricultural areas. This kingfisher lives mainly in the eastern and southeastern parts of Australia.

Appearance

This bird species has a size of about 42 centimeters and weighs between 310 and 480 grams. It has a long bill. The feathers on the head and breast color cream. The crown colors brown. The wings are brown with blue coverts. The tail colors reddish brown with dark banding.

Diet

Unlike the other kingfisher species, the Laughing Kookaburra does not live close to the water. Instead, this bird species hunts land animals such as insects, frogs, reptiles, but sometimes it even hunts small birds.
